John Adams High School is excited to offer our students the opportunity to participate in a worldwide program of study.  Students who enroll in the JAHS IB Program will be joining students throughout the world in an engaging and challenging course of study.

The International Baccalaureate Program is a rigorous program of study for highly motivated students.  Students complete the coursework during grades 11 and 12.  The goal of the IB Program is to develop well rounded students with character who respond to challenges with optimism and an open mind.  Students participating in this program are prepared to apply what they have learned in real world, complex, and unpredictable situations.

The objective of the Diploma Program for High School students is to prepare them for the challenges that they will face in the college and university environment.  Through the development of the whole student, participants in the program will be prepared to become knowledgeable thinkers who are willing to take risks to understand their surrounding environment.

Students will spend their freshman and sophomore years preparing for entrance into the Diploma Program in their Junior year.  During this time students will be engaged in a rigorous honors curriculum that will prepare them to complete the IB Curriculum during their 11th and 12th grade years.

Throughout all four years students will have access to an extensive support system that will assist them in successful completion of their academic program. Additionally, students will be encouraged to be active participants in the school, city and international community throughout their entire four years at John Adams.
